I wanted to do something funny for April Fool's Day, and I was
having a hard time coming up with ideas until somebody suggested
that I mess with the Self-Insert Webring. I debated it for a while,
and I wanted to make sure that if I did do something, that
it would be harmless and not upset anybody. I thought that picking a
silly little 'meme-y' character would be a good choice, and I
wondered for a while what I would pick, but eventually decided on
Among Us.
I backed up everything before I decided to mess with this,
obviously. This is a one-time joke that will be set back to normal
at the end of the day in my time zone. I backed up the JSON file
with everybody's submissions as well as the Javascript itself. Then,
I made a folder with 50 identical Among Us icons, and edited the
JSON/JS files that changed the text that would show up in
everybody's text box. I also wanted to make sure that everybody was
on the same page, so I added a link that directly stated that this
was just an April Fool's joke!
Thanks for playing along, everyone! Everything will be changed back
to normal on or just before April 2nd.
